Ha! We got lucky the past three days and had late afternoon rainfall that seriously cut the heat. Today it's overcast from the get-go so I hope it keeps the heat down somewhat for us.
Stay cool! The worst part for me is transitioning from barn to house. Walking into the AC while dripping with sweat and usually wet from the hose is the worst, yuckiest feeling.
My horses like watermelon, too--more than they like carrots! I get a real kick out of hosing mine off--they pirouette around at top speed to make sure the water gets all over them, and then they go encrust themselves with sand. Better than flyspray!
This post makes me so happy. I can identify with each and every creature! All of ours are doing the same thing, except we aren't so hot here anymore, and we don't have air conditioning! That watermelon series is the BEST! This is positively JOYFUL!
HAHAHAHA!! Oh Val, you are even talented with the water versions of summer! Love that you like the mellons too...
Too great, this post was C! made me totally smile... we here in the Western state of Oregon have had the inversion effect of all you hotter states..60-75 only with scattered every other day cloudyness. I am so okay with that...enjoying the heat of your area-from here!
Great pictures! Val looks very cool and happy enjoying his watermelon. All in all I think I'd rather be in the air conditioning.

Hahahaha! Love the watermelon eating.
ReplyDeleteThe cat looks quite perturbed, how dare you disturb HRH's naptime? Insolent human! You shall be punished.
ReplyDeleteLet's hope this heat wave breaks soon!

ReplyDeleteI love the pictures!! What type of camera do you use? Note to self - buy some watermelon for my horses.

Val likes watermelon! I have not seen a horse eat melon before. He is so cute, as are your AC worshipers.
ReplyDeleteLove the photos! That Val, looking like a little grey puppy colt gobbling his watermelon...nom, nom, nommity nom!
ReplyDeleteThose air-conditioned friends are lucky! Stay cool.
It is so cute that your horse eats watermelons! My mom's dog love blueberries!
