Happy belated birthday to Valentino - I hope he enjoyed some gingersnaps for me - we share our special day!
Also, just read your last post...I need to watch the gingersnaps entirely. I agree that outdoor physical work - in my case horse work - ends the weight struggle. I have always been fit as a runner, but I finally am getting the nice arms I always wanted from serious barn chores. Unfortunately the Florida vacation snuck in a put some soft back on, but I am back at it now and one more horse should equal even nicer arms, I think. Thanks for sharing your journey - I love the idea of focus - in riding, in eating, in life. Words to live by. I call it "quality" - my motto from Robert Pirsig! Also...I finally am following your blog...don't know how I missed that step - duh!
Val thanks you all for the kind birthday wishes. He luxuriated with a full body massage / grooming during which he alternately dozed, and grabbed snacks of hay - followed by (almost) as many cookies as he could eat, and then dinner :)
Juliette-
Thanks for the reminder - I loved Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance.. may be time for a reread!

I'm going to have to get that Mary Wanless book - it sounds really good, and my pelvis needs all the help it can get! :)
